"Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing."
Scout, a young girl in the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, realizes the value of reading. Her word of wisdom in this quote would be to recongise how simple things can be blessings. For example, reading a book or an article. While you are reading you do not realize what exactly you are doing. While reading, people in general are learning, exploring, and imagining. You learning different facts or recipes or thoughts about a person or yourself while you read, but reading is almost always seen as a subject or something to do to pass the time. Exploring the pages of world history can be fascinating! This way you will know how the Roman culture has been passed down from generation to generation years after Roman society had fallen. The imagination of reading keeps your guessing and wondering of what will happen next. Sometimes reading can put different perspectives and values in your life by example of characters, or just asking yourself if you believe in the same morals or not. Scout now understands the importance of reading because she imagined what her life would be like without the knowledge and exploration she has because of reading.
